Community Focus Group 1/18 Recap:
Concepts/Mood Boards
For our fourth session, our focus group gathered to review several different branding concepts and mood boards presented by Plot Marketing Co.
With research gathered through community surveys and focus group feedback, each of the mood boards presented represented the various data collected.
Our focus group walked through each one of these concepts, sharing thoughts and notes on what they felt best represented South Hutchinson through design and messaging. This feedback helped to narrow down a few concepts in particular to build from.
Marking the end of our phase one branding journey, city leaders will now help to determine and hone in the future branding direction of South Hutch. Stay tuned for exciting announcements!
Community Focus Group 12/13 Recap:
Our focus group met on 12/13 to continue our branding discussions—this time with a focus on color psychology.
We walked through the data behind the human response to color, and followed that with an activity that analyzed how individuals in the group responded to different colors when matching them to specific attributes.
From there, we reviewed surrounding, comparable cities’ branding and their usage of color. We reached some great points of inspiration for the tones and colors that could appropriately differentiate and represent South Hutch.

Competitor Analysis
This week, our focus group looked at surrounding communities and competitor marketing. We identified strengths and weaknesses in various marketing strategies and found inspiration for future South Hutch branding initiatives!
The results of our first community survey were key to informing the direction of this conversation and will continue to be at the forefront of the branding decisions ahead.

Discovery
For our first meeting, South Hutchinson business owners and community members put their heads together with Plot Marketing Co to conduct a brand audit.
We looked at the current branding for South Hutchinson and walked through what we liked, disliked, and wanted to see moving forward. Identifying brand attributes of other towns, cities, and well-known brands, this discussion was all about getting the conversation flowing and sparking ideas for the future of South Hutch.
